Ali McGuigan is a policy advisor at PSW, working primarily on legislative research, congressional outreach, and coordinating advocacy and policy work. McGuigan supports clients on issues related to trade, appropriations, agriculture, energy, transportation, financial services, and international affairs.
McGuigan joined PSW in June 2017 while completing her Master of Global Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Austin’s Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. During her time at UT, she served as a Research Affiliate for Innovations for Peace and Development where she conducted spatial analysis on issues of food security, conflict, and aid distribution in Africa.
She earned her B.A. in Political Science with an International Relations Emphasis, and minors in Spanish and Criminal Justice from Texas Christian University in 2016. While earning her undergraduate degree, McGuigan worked at Dream Outside the Box, a non-profit focused on cultivating leadership skills in college students to lead career-centered after-school programming for children in underserved communities.
